FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS
Seavern Cabinets began in 1948 in little Alvena Street Mentone, a bayside suburb of Melbourne. The family home was across the road and business founder, Vic Lukey would stroll home to see his wife Hazel everyday for lunch.
Vic’s son John (that’s him in the photo as a cute toddler tradie) carried on this lunchtime tradition with his mum for almost 30 years, after taking over the business at 19, following the passing of his Dad.
The business grew in size, ability and reputation under John’s dedication, building business relationships that have stood the test of time. The need for a change of pace and additional work space led a relocation to Braeside in 2000.
Today Seavern continues to thrive under the management of a new generation of Lukey’s. Although John has hung up the measuring tape and handed over the keys, his experience and knowledge is still evident through the craftsmen he taught and the family he nurtured.
And so, we the Seavern Family continue to create bespoke kitchens and speciality joinery along side builders, architects and designers. Whilst we embrace the evolution of joinery, we proudly continue to honour the roots of our trade, just as we did all those years ago.
